Who is David Matas?
David Matas is an immigration, refugee and international human rights lawyer based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He was member of the Canadian delegation to Rome conference in1998 which negotiated the treaty for the International Criminal Court. He led implementation seminars in Mongolia and Afghanistan, states parties to the Court treaty. In 2008, he was awarded the Order of Canada.
