NJW LIVE Project (Seminars #1–6) Official Booklet
The official NJW LIVE Project (Seminars #1–6) Booklet documents the foundational work of the LIVE Project, Legal Understanding and Victim Empowerment, a transformative initiative supported by the Law Foundation of Ontario.
The LIVE Project empowers marginalized communities affected by atrocity crimes, including members of the Hizmet Movement, Yazidis, Hazaras, and Tigrayans, by deepening their understanding of legal rights and access to justice. Through workshops, outreach, and survivor-centered legal education, the project bridges critical gaps in knowledge and strengthens the pursuit of justice both in Canada and internationally.
This booklet compiles the core materials and discussions from six seminars held throughout 2024–2025, covering:
- International and domestic legal frameworks for human rights and atrocity crimes.
- Mechanisms for justice and accountability in Canada and global courts.
- Practical guidance on identifying, documenting, and reporting human rights violations.
It serves as an educational and advocacy tool for survivors, practitioners, and community organizations dedicated to advancing justice, accountability, and resilience.
