Job Description: As the Justice & Accountability Team Director, you will lead the team responsible for investigating human rights violations and advocating for justice on behalf of victims. You will oversee case investigations, coordinate with legal professionals, and work closely with community leaders to bring critical issues to light.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead efforts to investigate and address issues of justice and accountability, including human rights violations or misconduct.
- Coordinate with legal teams, activists, and government bodies to advocate for justice.
- Supervise, recruit, and monitor volunteers, assigning them duties related to investigations and justice initiatives, and ensuring regular follow-up.
- Oversee case investigations, ensuring thorough documentation and reporting.
- Develop strategies to raise awareness of accountability issues through campaigns.
- Develop the coordination of justice campaigns and advocacy initiatives.
- Provide guidance and support to the Justice & Accountability team members.
- Collaborate with victims and communities to ensure their voices are central to advocacy efforts.
- Liaise with legal advisors, community leaders, and other stakeholders as needed.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, legal submissions, and other documentation based on investigations, ensuring accuracy and clarity for both internal use and external stakeholders.
- Draft detailed summaries and case files that support legal and advocacy initiatives, ensuring all findings are backed by reliable evidence and research.
- Liaise with external partners, including human rights organizations, legal professionals, and governmental bodies, to submit findings, support cases, and pursue justice for victims.
